From the heartwarming “Gondola Giving” tradition to the much-beloved Winter on the Mountain celebration, the Adventure Park is the perfect destination to embrace the joy of the holiday spirit.
Tis the season! Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is gearing up for a holiday season brimming with generosity and festive cheer for one and all.
Elevating the Spirit of Generosity to New Heights
A hallmark of the holiday season is the spirit of generosity which is the true magic of Christmas. It begins with helping those who go without in our community. The Park’s “Gondola Giving” initiative assists Lift-Up, the region’s local food pantry to help families in need during the holiday season by providing the fixings for a Thanksgiving meal. Glenwood Caverns rewards donors with a free ride on the Glenwood Gondola.
It’s easy to make a difference. Just bring in a $25 City Market or Walmart gift card to the Adventure Park ticket window by Wednesday, Nov. 27. In return, you’ll receive four complimentary Glenwood Gondola tickets valued at $140, valid through February 2025.
Gondola Giving isn’t just about donating; it’s about inspiring a ripple effect of generosity throughout our community. This initiative is the perfect opportunity to involve your family, friends, or coworkers in a meaningful activity that channels the real spirit of the season. After all, what better way to kick off the holidays than by giving back while planning your next mountaintop adventure?
Lighting Up the Mountain-top with Joyful Sights and Sounds
The holiday season at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park wouldn’t be complete without Winter on the Mountain, the annual Glenwood Springs celebration that transforms the mountaintop into a glittering wonderland of lights, music, and merriment. The festivities officially began with last weekend’s Winter on the Mountain Kickoff Party.
Illuminated by thousands of twinkling lights, Winter on the Mountain is a brilliant way to mark the start of the holidays. The evening’s highlights include visits with Santa and the Grinch, s’mores for roasting around the fire, a musical Christmas tree, and live musical entertainment. All that, plus thrill rides, family attractions, and cave tours!
While the Kickoff Party is the big event that launches the yearly flurry of activities spanning the whole season, visitors can look forward to festive fun for weeks to come including:
- Visits with Santa and the Grinch on weekends through Dec. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. It’s your opportunity for memorable photos with two of the season’s most beloved characters.
- The delightful sights and sounds of a musical Christmas Tree in the Main Plaza that plays every 30 minutes from 5 to 8 p.m.
- Live music performed by talented local artists on weekends from 5 to 8 p.m. through Dec. 31. Bands slated to play are The Colorado Currys, Rodrigo, Mountain Harmony, Gerry Goodman, Jason Abbott, Feeding Giants, and Hugh Phillips.
How to Have Happier Holidays
Winter on the Mountain is a holiday joy and a wonder-filled tradition in Glenwood Springs. It’s also a reminder of the importance of community. In keeping with the season of giving, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park encourages visitors to participate in philanthropic activities while also enjoying the festivities. Start your 2024 holidays by donating to Lift-Up through Gondola Giving, then share in the joy and merriment of the season with family and friends at Winter on the Mountain.
