March means it’s officially spring break in Colorado! Make the most of your family time off together at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.
In addition to relaxing hot springs, Glenwood Springs is home to a mountain of fun. For next-level kid and adult-pleasing adventures, thrills and smiles-galore, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is the place to launch your spring break into high gear!
Our signature mountaintop experiences will take your breath away! Located at the summit of Iron Mountain, overlooking Glenwood Springs, the Colorado River Valley and Glenwood Canyon, the rides and views are knock-your-socks-off spectacular. But that’s not all. The caverns which descend far below the surface of the mountain offer a rare glimpse of the mysterious world beneath our feet.
Signs of Springs at Glenwood Caverns
In addition to the universal sign of spring marked by switching to Daylight Savings Time this month, Glenwood Caverns is also showing sure signs of a fresh new season. The mercury is steadily climbing; and, as temperatures increase so do the opportunities for fun and adventure!
You can see signs of spring everywhere you look! The warmer temps are coaxing flower bulbs to bloom, creating a beautiful blanket of color throughout the park. But that’s not all, as the overnight temperatures increase, more of the park’s rides become operational. Spring in Colorado is known for its unpredictable weather. If it’s sunny and warm, get ready to ride; if not, enjoy what’s open. You can always visit our Ride Status Page to see if there are any weather-related ride closures.
March is also the month that the Park transitions to being open daily, Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Purchase tickets at the walkup window or online. If your crew wants to make a whole day of it—ride the rides multiple times, partake of attractions like the 4D Theater, play laser tag and explore the caves—the Funday Ticket is the way to go. It’s all-inclusive and offers the best bang for the buck.
Hi-Flying Spring Fling Fun
Defiance Roller Coaster (weather permitting) Adrenaline junkies this one’s for you! The Adventure Park’s newest thrill ride is a scream from start to finish.
Viewing Deck at the Lookout Grille. Hands-down the best views in town. The vistas will make your jaw drop, they’re that gorgeous.
Giant Canyon Swing (weather permitting). Another ride that manages to be both terrifying and exhilarating. A hydraulic pendulum, it launches riders over Glenwood Canyon, some 1,400 feet below.
Alpine Coaster. The park’s number one ride is a family favorite. The throttle on your car lets you control your speed as you descend the track. Let ‘er rip or take it easy, it’s up to you.
Cave Tours. Leave it to your expert guide to shine a light on a world that would otherwise be perpetually immersed in darkness. Take the King’s Row tour and the Historic Fairy Caves Tour. Both are included as part of a Funday Ticket.
Trolls. These cave-dwelling characters get a bad rap in fairy tales, but the two trolls—Halvor and Chantico—at Glenwood Caverns set the record straight. A couple of friendly giants, they welcome visitors and especially love to have their photos taken with kids of all ages.
